Philip Durant founded American Computer Enterprises, Inc. in 1997 from the bedroom of his parent’s house. From the outset it was a small but tightly focused company and remains that way today.
We have steadily grown larger over the years, but have always been there to provide the highest quality service and best products to our highly valued clients. We have been building long term relationships since day one and continue that effort every day. Our clients are the reason we are here and that value is instilled in every employee daily.
Philip Durant
Owner
Philip Durant has been fully involved with computers, electronics, and technology since he was a young boy. He began attending the University of South Alabama after graduating with honors from Daphne High School. He went on hiatus after two years to dedicate all of his time and energy to the growing needs and demands of the company.
His experience in the technology sector comes from years of tinkering with PC’s and electronics to actually beginning work in the field with clients at the age of 16. This was while working for several other technology companies in the area.
He continually pursues certifications and training on a constant basis to stay up to date with the latest technologies and bring the best information to the company’s clients. He currently holds CompTIA’s A+ and Network + certifications and others from Microsoft, Cisco, and other vendors. He has also had the great privilege to have had the instruction from several different mentors over the years in order to hone his skills.
He is also very active in the local community and is an active member in the local Daphne/Spanish Fort Rotary Club, sat on the Better Business Bureau of South Alabama Board of Directors, and is a Past Commodore of the Lake Forest Yacht Club. He is one hundred percent dedicated to the company and its success.
Nathan Thornton
Systems Consultant
Nathan Thornton studied Computer Science at Auburn University. After college he pursued his other passion in cooking at Calypso Joe’s in Orange Beach. He came back to the computer business after getting married to focus on having a family. He strives to provide the best customer service, care, and professionalism he can. His superior work ethic and computer skills are an immense benefit to the company. He is working toward his certifications in CompTIA A+ and Network +.
Kendal White

Systems Consultant
Kendal graduated from Southeast College of Technology with an Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems. With 10 years experience in the I.T. industry Kendal is a valuable addition to our team. Kendal has experience in many different service settings from large corporations all the way to small business and residential customers. Kendal has I.T. experience in many different fields also such as medical, dental, real estate, resorts, municipalities, engineering and many more. Kendal holds the CompTia A+ certification.
Dona Thames
Office Admin
After 20 years as an educator, dona changed careers to become our office administrator in March of 2010. Dona has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from the University of South Alabama. She has found that many classroom skills such as planning, organizing and scheduling, transfer well to the corporate setting.
